Lymphoma in males?

What are the odds of a man being infertile after being treated successfully for lymphoma - radiation and chemotherapy?

Lymphoma in males?
It's not like the guy is shooting dice and there are gambling odds. The risks are pretty clearly already known if you can give more specific facts about his treatments, dosage, and areas treated.

If you know what type chemo agents are being used you can easily get the answer from his oncologist or look it up on Google. As for the radiation, it depends on what area of the body is being radiated. If his groin is being radiated then his ability to have children will be impaired. He should do like Lance Armstrong and bank some frozen sperm before he starts treatment. Problem solved. Lance has fathered three children from his banked sperm. good luck with the lymphoma
Reply:If getting radiation, the site should be considered because the closer it is in genital area, the higher the risks. With chemotherapy,it is not for certain to know if the man will be particularly greatly affected but all the drugs are teratogenic and toxic so it is advised to consider sperm banking.
