Burkitt's lymphoma?

My sister recently passed away from Burkitt's lymphoma. She was only 28 years old. She had been diagnosed with infectious mononucleosis 1 month prior to this. She was only diagnosed 6 days before her death. Do people actually recover from this cancer? When I've done research on this cancer, it seems to be very agressive and the average life expectancy is 6 weeks. Any input? Any happy endings?

Burkitt's lymphoma?
INPUT

I'm sorry for your loss.

Cancer is caused by poor nutrition (including oxygen) and stressors. Stressors can be environmental, like heavy metals, food additives or pollution, or emotional or job stress.

Our bodies have 60 trillion--yes, trillion--cells, and there are always some mutating into cancer cells, but a healthy immune system kills them before they have a chance to get a foothold in the body.

It takes a LONG time, usually, or an exrtaordinary amount of stressors, to degrade the immune system to the point where it won't do its job, but once cancer has formed, it can spread rapidly.

THIS IS IMPORTANT! There are ways to BEAT cancer that the AMA is keeping from the American public, that are being used in Europe and around the world. Here is some information that is getting hard to find--"The Cure for All Cancers", ISBN 0963632825; "A Cancer Therapy", ISBN 0882681052; "Hydrogen Peroxide--Medical Miracle", ISBN 1885236077; "The Natural Cure for Cancer--Germanium", ISBN 0533071410; and "Killing Cancer", ISBN 0705000966.

Type 'used books' into your browser and find a good site, then type in the ISBN numbers and get some great help cheap.

I know of people whose cancer has 'spontaneously remitted' (WENT AWAY for no known reason) after they went on a program of herbs and nutrition.

The American Medical Association and the pharmaceutical companies control medical law in this country, and they are in it for the money, and don't care about individuals. You and your family must look out for yourselves to stand a chance of being healthy.

This is not a joke. Look into it. Best of luck

I almost didn't share this because of your loss. But maybe this can help someone else you care about.
Reply:Soapbox

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A soapbox is a raised, improvised platform on which one stands to make an impromptu speech, often about a political subject.

Reply:The word arises from olden times when speakers would literally stand on a box of soap or a similar item to gain height.

Reply:The term is also used metaphorically to describe a person engaging in often flamboyant impromptu or nonofficial public speaking, as in the phrases "He's on his soapbox", or "Get off of your soapbox."

Reply:Hyde Park, London is famous for its Sunday soapbox orators, who have assembled at Speaker's Corner since 1872 to speak about religion, politics, or even shoe sizes.

Reply:Modern soapboxes

A modern form of the soapbox is a blog, a website on which a user can easily publish their thoughts to whoever reads their page. Or possibly Yahoo Answers Report It

Reply:Individuals with EBV infections typically show some elevation in the white blood cell count and a noticeable increase in

lymphocytes—white blood cells associated with the immune response of the body. IM is a time-limited infection that usually lasts from one to two months. Symptoms include fever, malaise, sore throat, swollen glands and (sometimes) swollen spleen and/or liver.

EBV infections that lead to Burkitt's lymphoma in Africa typically affect the jaw and mouth area, while the (very rare) incidences of Burkitt's lymphoma found in developed countries are more apt to manifest tumors in the abdominal region.

Nasopharyngeal cancer is uncommon in the West but more prevalent in the Far East. It affects more men than women, and usually occurs between the ages of 40 and 50 years.

Treatments

Because EBV infections are viral in origin, antibiotics are ineffective against them. Much research is geared toward the development of a vaccines effective against both the virus and cancer.

Anticancer drugs, such as cyclophosphamide, or radiation therapy have been shown to be effective against Burkitt's lymphoma in four out of five cases.

Alternative and complementary therapies

The goal of alternative treatment is to lower the white blood cell count to normal levels. Treatment often includes nutritional supplements such as flaxseed oil or shark cartilage, vitamins—including vitamins C and K, and mineral supplements containing magnesium and potassium. Well-conducted randomized clinical trials have not yet been conducted to prove efficacy of these therapies.

Mortality/Morbidity:

Before aggressive therapeutic programs, children with Burkitt lymphoma died rapidly. With combination chemotherapy and CNS prophylaxis, the survival rate is now at least 60%. Patients with limited disease have a survival rate of 90%. Patients with bone marrow and CNS involvement have a poor prognosis. Adults with the disease, especially those in the advanced stage, do more poorly than affected children.

Race: Burkitt lymphoma is endemic in people living in central Africa. It is sporadic in residents of the United States.

Sex: The male-to-female ratio is 2-3:1.

Age: Burkitt lymphoma is most common in children. In Africa, the mean age is 7 years. Outside Africa, the mean age is 11 years.
