Has anyone heard of Lymphoma in a yr old dog? repost?

Took my Tonka (English Bulldog) to the vet today for lumps under his chin near neck area. The vet did needle biopsy and looked at the slide. He said what he sees doesnt seem to be good. He thinks it may be a form of Lymphoma and he is sending the slide to Ohio State to be examined.. My question is has anyone ever heard of a dog only a yr old developing this?


I am not ready to let him go at a yr.

Reply:So..you didn't like the answer I gave you the first time? Why don't you wait and see what the results are, just because he has lumps doesn't mean he has lymphoma.
Reply:Lymphoma is a type of Cancer - anyone human / dog / cat etc young old or a baby even can get cancer.





Cancer can be treated - just likein humans -- removal , may need radiation or cheemo also - tthere are some orginzations who finantially ssist such treatments have alook around online - they may have further info for you -- you can also always getasecond opinion from a different vet but thats more $$$

Reply:Yes, unfortunately a 1 yr old dog can have this. Look at all the young children that get cancer. Some have cancer since they're a year old too. You may be able to pay for chemo for your dog, but its very very expensive. The vet can help your dog through this with pain meds until his time comes. Unless your dog is in severe pain I would wait to put him to sleep if thats avoidable. Look into the whole chemo therapy and see if thats something you could do.
Reply:My dog just had a lumped biobsied today because the vet said she had unusual cells in a bump around the same area. They said it was netiher fluid or fat (the not cancer things) my dog is 2!





Man I am WIGGING out, just spent my lunch break blowing my nose in a shirt that was in my car. These people that say wait it out...yes they are right. There is no need to worry till you know you need to. There did that help you?? Didin't think so cuz it didn't help me. Hey when you know could you e-mail me?
