my husband has lymphoma stage 3 A he starts chem this week im really worried has anyone else had this and beat it ? he has a 4 lumps in his neck , 1 in his chest and 1 in his groin
My husband has lymphoma stage 3 A?
Yes, of course. People beat this all the time!
Stage 3 means that it is both above and below the diaphragm.
Besides the stage, be sure to find out these things about his lymphoma:
What kind is it? (follicular, diffuse, B-cell, T-cell, etc)
What grade is it? (low, intermediate, high grade/aggressive)
Is the bone marrow involved?
Does he have any particular 'high risk' features?
The biggest sign of improvement is improvement. Find out what the doctor's plans are for re-staging. He will probably want a CT scan or a CT and PET after a few cycles of the chemotherapy. That testing will tell you a lot-hope and expect to find a big decrease in the size of the masses.
Also, be sure to get information about the specific drugs he is going to be on-major side effects to watch for, etc.
This is definitely beat-able. Just hang in there.
